Miles Kane and Alex turner are planning to release another The Last Shadow Puppets album, possibly even before the end of the year.

Miles Kane has confirmed The Last Shadow Puppets will release another album.

The 'Inhaler' hitmaker admitted he and Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner may even produce a record from their side project- whose 2008 LP 'the Age of the Understatement' was released to widespread critical acclaim - later this year.

He said: "That will be when the time is right. We will both know together.
"We are both enjoying our things but we are still working together which is great. We are both enjoying our paths and when the time is right we'll go and do that again.
"Maybe the end of this year. Maybe next year."

Miles - who was a member of The Rascals when he and Alex formed The Last Shadow Puppets - also admitted the pair didn't "expect" to produce an album when they first started writing together.

He told Noise11.com: "We didn't even expect to make a record. We were just these two young guys who had written these songs and went to France for two weeks to record and see what would happen. In two weeks we recorded 11 songs. We had a great connection, me and Alex. It is a great partnership."

I don't get why everyone is so convinced. He didn't really confirm it, he just said that they'll record another album when the time is right. That might as well be in five years or not at all.

i think that people are excited and want to think that this album will come very soon (i mean not in 10 years ) because of the video of Little illusion machine, because it's so great to see them together and how they have fun when they play together

even if, of course, they are both amazing in their solo/monkeys stuff

The comment is basically "maybe this year, maybe next" it doesnt tell us anything concrete in my opinion. Hope im wrong though.

I suspected there might be a new TLSP album due to Arctic Monkeys saying they wouldn't be back in the studio until 2013 so I'm not surprised at all. Can't wait for the new album to come, I'm anxious to see what's gonna come out of there, what direction are they gonna take. Both Miles and Alex have been pretty busy since they first got together to record in 2008. Although I would also like Miles to release another solo album, that'd be awesome.

I think Miles knows he needs to keep up the work on his solo career Alex was lucky he had two established Arctic Monkeys albums before releasing Age Of The Understatement, I think Miles knows he would be stepping back into Alex Turners shadow again - I think Miles will do his own solo album before releasing another Last Shadow Puppets album hence him hinting at the end of this year/sometime next year.

i really think that there's less and less people who still think that Miles is just in the shadow of Alex. I mean if you saw him live and if you're normally constitued, it's obvious that he's a great musician, one of the best currently, and that he's nothing to envy to Alex (sorry it's late i don't know how to make a correct english sentence to say that ).
There's only those stupid interviewers who still think that and always talk about Alex during his interviews.

But yeah, new Miles materials in the first semester and then, for next christmas, or the beginning of 2013, a new TLSP. It'd be perfect!

I know we can have both but I want Miles solo album first. There's a reason why in most of his interviews he ends up answering questions about Alex or TLSP. I don't think he's finished creating an identity of his own. Colour of the trap was just the beginning and to be fair, half of its songs were co-written by Alex so I want to see more of him. But nobody can deny his talent, that's for sure.

I don’t think anyone here is denying Miles Kane’s talent, I just want him to make sure he makes full use of it – I think or hope Miles sees the need to carve out his own future, the Last Shadow Puppets can return at any point, Miles solo career is only going to get one shot at getting it right – I think Miles recognises this fact hence him repeatedly saying “we will return – at some point” without anything further being added.

The other thing I think is that touring with the Arctic Monkeys is inevitably going to be asked about Alex Turner and Last Shadow Puppets – im sure Miles expects these kind of questions really.

I really didn’t know they never planned to do a full album, I recall them going away for 2 weeks but I didn’t know they only intended to do an EP – amazing the quality of the tracks they produced, sadly I think the 2nd Last Shadow Puppets album will take a little longer to craft.

i'm unfortunately agree with that. but as i personally see him as a great musician, not just because of TLSP but thanks to his own business, i admit that sometimes i don't understand why people don't have my point of view i sometimes live in a wonderful world where people see the world like me because for me, he no longer needs to proove something.

but yeah, a lot of people don't think that, and he should do another solo album before the 2nd TLSP. But didn't he said that he had new material for 2012? That's more concrete than the TLSP thing for now.

Miles also had the songs ready for the album 5 months before it was released - so i think he's had quite a lot of time and he has been in the studio a few times over the last few months. I think it will be an EP but he has hinted a few times at wanting to get a 2nd album out there. With him touring in April he cant really tour on all the same material as he did all last year.
