Arriving at the ballroom with memories of the Mega gig at the Southampton Joiners where i was lucky enough to meet who seems to be the most genuine man in music and 'The Colour of the Trap' fresh in mind from the journey to camden we walked in.

Arriving at such a large venue in comparison to southampton, satisfaction was the overwhelming feeling , knowing that Miles` passion and Brilliant pop was taking him places. A few beers and some dramatic entrance music later, The man and his fantastic band walked on stage to the chanting of "Miles, Miles, Miles" and rocked straight into "Better Left Invisible". this for me is truly one of the biggest impact tunes you`ll find on the album and its understandable that Miles refused to continue with the gig when his guitar didnt give his tune the kick it deserved. after addressing the situation apologetically the band went on to one of my live favourites "Counting Down The Days" but once again although miles` voice led to the crowd instantly standing and taking notice, he wasnt happy and it showed. a few technical checks later and "counting down the days was reintoduced only to be followed by a repetition of the apologies and the Miles Kane quartet head back stage.

Miles and co headed back on stage some 20 minutes later to the most welcome of applauses and again apologised continuously and thanked us all for "sticking with us". i knew what was to be delivered, i knew that all would be forgotten and everyone else knew once Miles burst into rearrange which can only be described as the pop party starter for the night. From here on in Miles drove us through the night with his pop driven indie belting out tunes such as "before its midnight", "kingcrawler" and "quicksand" of which the crowd continued to chant when th number had finished. "woman's touch" was a taster of exciting things to come for us Kane fans, a belting chorus driven tune with the essence of both inhaler and come closer.

The night slowed down with the saucy "Happenstance" of which sounded brilliant even on his own. The two most intimate moments of the night followed with "Take The Night From Me" dedicated to MRS POLLY K, miles` mother who was in the crowd, and you could see he gave it something extra for her. a rapturous applause followed for her and for him. The lighting then focused upon Solely Miles for the title track from the album "The Colour Of The Trap", passionate slowly and crowd pleasing sing along combined it went down a treat.

Miles went on to apologise and thank the crowd again for the difficulties, promised a free gig and "on that note, the next ones called Come Closer", it goes without saying the crowd reached a new level ,miles gave his consistent everything and rocked the ballroom for an electric finish.

countless chants for more and several applause later Miles and co entered again for a well deserved encore losing his crisp shirt and complimenting the leopard print trousers with the black and silver sequin Inhaler Tshirt from his merchandise, to then blow us away with Inhaler!

Miles was fantastic on Tuesday as well...but sadly it was a struggle just to watch his set because I happened to choose a spot in the crowd where several rowdy people were moshing, pushing, shoving, pouring beer on the crowd and so on. I'm older than the average fan, but I was there for the MUSIC and I'm certain the pissed-off look on my face just pegged me as an old bitty and not a true fan of great rock and roll. It got so bad that a fight between girls broke out right in front of us, complete with hair-pulling. I'd waited months to see Miles play and this certainly put a downer on the evening. Tell me, more experienced Miles gig attendees, is it always like this or did I just pick the wrong venue on the wrong night? Miles' music would not have seemed to me to be the sort that inspires violent, drunken behavior, but maybe that's just what the "kids" do these days. I'll certainly pay again to see him play...as I said, despite the horrors of the crowd, he was on fire and I was able to enjoy myself despite my surroundings. But it was hard work and I'd prefer my next Miles gig to be enthusiastic, yes, but focused on his performance. Glad Wednesday went so well, despite the technical difficulties. I'd have taken those any day over the near-death experience of Tuesday! Here's to the day when Miles plays a place like the HMV Forum...where I can get a seat upstairs, still have a great view and still rock the night away. :-)))))
